Essential oil diffusers - Simple and effective!

Essential oil diffusers are devices designed to help disperse the powerful aroma molecules in essential oils into the atmosphere, so they can be inhaled into the body for their therapeutic actions to take effect.  There are various different types of aromatherapy diffusers, some of which require a power source such as electricity, batteries or a candle flame.  Diffusing pure essential oils is a great way to add natural fragrance to a room, with the added benefits of promoting well being at the same time.

Essential oil burners are an inexpensive and widely available type of aromatherapy diffuser.  These incorporate a small bowl that holds water, to which a few drops of aromatic oil should be added.  A tea light or small candle is then burned beneath to heat up the water and diffuse the aromas into the surrounding air.  Light bulb rings and scented aromatherapy candles also rely on a heat source to activate the diffusion process.  In contrast, fan diffusers use air to disperse the aroma into a room.

Nebulizers are essential oil diffusers that are thought to provide maximum aromatherapy benefits, as they use a device that breaks the aroma molecules down to make them easier to be inhaled into the lungs.  In contrast, a very simple but effective way to diffuse plant essences is to use a porous clay pot, to which a few drops of undiluted oil are added, which will gradually evaporate, releasing a powerful fragrance.  Pots have the advantage of being portable, for instance they can be moved about the home and can even be used as natural air fresheners in cars.  A decorative diffuser can make a nice aromatherapy gift, and can easily be purchased from online stores.
